Progress on the roof is coming along. It is hard to take pictures since it is way up on the top of the house and (being 8 months preggers) I cannot climb up there. Soooo I have to depend on the workers to take pictures. So here is one from the top of the house...

I went past the house this morning to grab a picture before anyone got there and one of our wonderful ICF guys, John, was there. So I took a few pictures from the ground before more work happens today!!

Weekend Project

The boys were hard at work this weekend getting everything ready for the roof.

January 4, 2012

Our inspection came late and the second floor pour will now happen tomorrow. Regardless, I think our house is coming along pretty quickly!!

January 3, 2012

The bracing are up for the second floor. The men are busy at work getting everything ready. Rumor has it the pour will begin Wednesday around 2:30 in the afternoon.
Yesterday we had a mishap with either a miscalculation or thief and our builder had to high tail it up to Orlando to pick up some more blocks... but with all that happening he was able to get everything and the building will continue.
As you can see in the picture the windows are framed up and ready for the last 4 rows of blocks to go in.
Roofers are scheduled to come this weekend to start putting our metal roof up and then the outer seal of the house should be sealed and roughing in can begin!!

Progress is moving along on the house. Our builder got the Christmas sickness and had to call off work a few days early. They are planning on putting all second floor blocks up on Tuesday 1/3, calling for inspections on that day and finally pouring on Wednesday 1/4. We have our roof people lined up to come in next week to put our roof on and then all the roughing in of elelctric and plumbing will begin.
Oh and we picked up our flooring this week. We chose to go with a sustainable bamboo...
